Martin Valdivia

Senior Researcher, Group for the Analysis of Development (GRADE)

Martin Valdivia has a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota. He has worked as a Senior Researcher at GRADE since 1993. His fields of interest include health, poverty and social policy, micro-finance and rural development, with publications in journals such as the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Development Economics, the American Journal of Political Science, among others. He is an active member of networks such the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA), Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), Experiments in Governance and Politics (EGAP). He is currently researching the relevance of soft skills and socio-emotional drivers for the financial inclusion and economic empowerment of women in urban and rural areas of Brazil, Peru and Dominican Republic.
