The use of education technology has triggered fierce debates among policymakers across the world. This coincides with a mixed pool of evidence on the subject. In this VoxDev video, Karthik Muralidharan explains that any generalisation made on education technology as a whole is a mistake. It is the specific details of what the technology is doing that are important. He discusses new research in urban areas of Delhi, India on using technology to personalise instructions to individual students. Interestingly, the researchers find that this personalisation significantly improves learning outcomes.
