Andualem T Mengistu

Andualem Telaye Mengistu (PhD) is a senior researcher at Policy Studies Institute. Currently, he is the director of the macroeconomic division at the Ethiopian Policy Analysis of EDRI.
He has received his PhD from the Stockholm School of Economics. For his thesis he mainly focused on the workings of the monetary markets of developing countries and addressed such issues as whether the East African community countries are ready to form a monetary union.
His current research interests are the role of currency movements in industrial development of developing countries, tax benefit microsimulations of the Ethiopian tax system, corporate taxation, and trade costs. Besides research, he is producing various policy briefs.
