
Asha Sundaram is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics, University of Auckland. She has an M.Phil in Economics from the University of Oxford, UK and a PhD from Syracuse University, USA. Her research spans the areas of international trade and development economics. She has been a visiting scholar at the Department of Economics, University of Michigan, Ann-Arbor (2014) and the Centre for Advanced Financial Research and Learning (CAFRAL), set up by the Reserve Bank of India (2019-20). She has consulted for the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East-Asia (ERIA) and the Peterson Institute of International Economics (PIIE), Washington DC.
