Assistant Professor of Economics, Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar
Jose Asturias is an assistant professor of economics at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service in Qatar. He received his Masters and Doctorate in Economics from the University of Minnesota. He attended the University of Pennsylvania where he received a BS in Economics from the Wharton School and a BA in Mathematics from the College of Arts and Sciences. His research interests include international trade and macroeconomics (with a special interest in development). Before working at Georgetown, he worked at the Federal Reserve Bank Minneapolis, Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Central Bank of Guatemala, and the White House Council of Economic Advisers. In addition, he is a recipient of a Fulbright grant.
