Huayu Xu is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the National School of Development, Peking University. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan in 2020. His research interests lie in development economics and personnel economics, with a focus on human capital, health, and productivity in developing countries. His work has been published in leading economics journals, including American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Development Economics, and Journal of Urban Economics.
