Frederik Noack

Frederik Noack is an Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in Food and Resource Economics at the University of British Columbia. His research examines the links between economic development and the environment, using economic models alongside satellite and survey data. He collaborates across disciplines, particularly with ecologists, to deepen insights into issues such as rural development and biodiversity conservation, sustainable fisheries, and land use. He is the co-PI of the Wildlife and Conservation Economics Lab and an Associate Member of the Vancouver School of Economics. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Kiel and a Diploma in Landscape Ecology from the University of Greifswald.
