Lucas Davis

Jeffrey A. Jacobs Distinguished Professor, Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley

Lucas Davis is the Jeffrey A. Jacobs Distinguished Professor at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. A member of the faculty at UC Berkeley since 2009, Davis is an energy economist who does research and teaching on a wide range of energy and environmental topics.

His recent work focuses on electricity and natural gas regulation, pricing in competitive and non-competitive markets, and the energy and environmental impacts of air conditioning.

Davis serves as co-editor of the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and Research Affiliate of the Energy Institute at Haas.

His 50+ peer-reviewed publications appear in top academic journals including the Journal of Political Economy and American Economic Review, and his research has been featured in the Economist, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Financial Times, and Washington Post.

Before moving to UC Berkeley, Davis was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Michigan and a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin in 2005.
