Senior Director, Global Poverty Research Lab, Northwestern University
Michael Mulford is currently Senior Director of the Global Poverty Research Lab at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He has over 20 years of experience in designing, leading, and evaluating multi-sectoral, integrated development programs in challenging contexts, primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa. In senior roles as Country Director and Chief of Party, he led all phases of programing from proposal development to start-up, staff recruitment, implementation, final evaluation and handover. One consistent theme was his focus on learning and adaptation, introducing innovations and rigorously testing new ideas to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of programs and to contribute policy-relevant evidence to a broader set of stakeholders.
