Luc Christiaensen

Lead Agricultural Economist, World Bank

Luc Christiaensen is a Lead Agricultural Economist in the Planet Vertical of the World Bank. He has advised governments and written extensively on issues related to agrifood, poverty and jobs; labor mobility, structural transformation, and urbanization; as well as the effects of climate change, environmental degradation and risk management in Africa, East Asia, and Europe. He is currently working on a global report on Jobs in the Agrifood System. During 2009-2010, he was Senior Research Fellow at UNU-WIDER in Helsinki. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Cornell University.
