Román David Zárate is an economist at the Trade and Integration unit of the World Bank’s Development Research Group (DEC-RG).  Román received a PhD in Economics from UC Berkeley.

Román's research interests are in international trade, urban economics, and development economics. His main focus is on how different forms of market integration impact aggregate welfare and productivity in developing countries.
