Alejandro is an Assistant Professor of Risk Management and Insurance at Georgia State University. His research agenda lies at the intersection of development and environmental economics. His recent work focuses on establishing the economic consequences of natural disasters and studying how markets and government institutions can be redesigned to mitigate their impact. Alejandro holds a Ph.D. in economics from the Paris School of Economics.
