Anik Ashraf is an Assistant Professor of Economics at LMU Munich. His research focuses on the intersection of development and organizational economics, examining how frictions, information asymmetries, and incentives shape the performance of public and private organizations in developing countries.
As a Bangladeshi economist, his research agenda is driven by personal experience with development challenges and prior policy work at international and local research organizations in Bangladesh. He has multiple ongoing research projects in Asia and Africa, and his work has been published or is forthcoming in leading journals such as the Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Development Economics, and Management Science.
