Erwin Bulte

Erwin Bulte is Professor of Development Economics at Wageningen University and Tilburg University. Until recently he worked mainly in the domain of natural resource economics. But his research interests these days are broader, and include the economics of institutional change, social capital, development, conflict, and post-conflict recovery. Increasingly, he tries to weave experimental approaches in his research projects – both “field experiments” with respondents in rural areas as well as large-scale “randomized trials” together with NGOs, so as to assess the impact of various types of interventions.
