Gabriel Brown is a PhD Candidate in Economics at the University of British Columbia. He will begin a post-doctoral position at Stellenbosch University under the Laboratory for the Economics of Africa's Past (LEAP) in July 2024. His research interests lie in development economics, economic history and political economy with a focus on Africa. He received his M.A. in Economics from the University of Toronto and a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Philosophy also from the University of Toronto.
