Garance Genicot is a Professor of Economics at Georgetown University. She is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and the Bureau for Research and Economic Analysis of Development (BREAD), and serves on the board of Theoretical Research in Development Economics (ThReD). She has served on numerous editorial boards and policy advisory panels. She holds a PhD in Economics from Cornell University.
Her research lies at the intersection of development economics and political economy, with a focus on inequality, aspirations, gender, conflict, and informal institutions.
