Dr. Joël Cariolle is a Research Officer at the Fondation pour les Études et Recherches sur le Développement International (Ferdi) and an Associate Researcher at CERDI – Université Clermont Auvergne. His work bridges macro- and micro-economic perspectives to study the digitalization process in developing countries, with a particular focus on Africa. He is the co-author, with J. Aker, of Mobile Phones and Development in Africa: Does the Evidence Meet the Hype? (Palgrave Studies in Agricultural Economics and Food Policy).
