Khalil Bechchani

Khalil Bechchani is a Ph.D. candidate in development economics at the Université de Sherbrooke. His research focuses on fiscal policy, macroeconomics, public finance, and development economics. He has published research on fiscal austerity and previously worked as an economist intern in the IMF’s African Department, where he contributed to work on fiscal consolidation in Africa. Prior to starting his Ph.D., he was a research associate intern in the Franc Zone and Development Financing Division (COMOZOF) at the Banque de France. He holds a Master’s degree in development economics from CERDI, Université Clermont Auvergne.
