Lina Abdelfattah is a PhD Candidate in Economics at the University of Bordeaux, France. Her dissertation focuses on the interplay between social protection policies and food security dynamics in fragile and conflict-affected settings in Africa. She particularly engages with issues of measurement errors, price transmission, general equilibrium effects, and value chain concentration, while integrating primary, secondary and big data. Prior to her doctoral studies, Lina was a Senior Research Associate at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), conducting impact evaluations of food policies and co-authoring several peer-reviewed publications on relevant topics. She holds an MSc in Economics and Public Policy from the University of Bristol, UK.
