Bansi Malde is Reader (Associate Professor) in Economics at City St George's, University of London and a Research Fellow at IFS and IZA. Her research focuses on development economics, health economics and the economics of social networks. Recent research has investigated labelled microcredit and the take-up of sanitation infrastructure and behaviour, intra-household perceptions of sanitation and how these affect sanitation investment decisions, effects of nutrition and water, sanitation and hygiene behaviours on child health and the effects of providing information on various topics on individual, household and firm outcomes in developing countries. Her research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals including The Economic Journal and Journal of Development Economics.
