David Margolis
Professor, Paris School of Economics
David Margolis is a Research Director in economics with France's Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), assigned to the Centre d'Economie de la Sorbonne, a research center at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon - Sorbonne affiliated with the Paris School of Economics. From 2009 to 2012 he was on loan to the World Bank's Social Protection and Labor Department. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University in 1993, and taught at the Université de Montréal before moving to France. His research interests include the econometrics of matched employer-employee data, labor market insertion of youth and welfare recipients, and integrating industrial organization with labor economics, often approached from a perspective that compares equilibrium outcomes across different countries. He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in February 2001.
