Anirudh Shingal is a Professor of Economics and Department Chair of Economics and Policy at the S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research in Mumbai. He is also a Senior Programme Associate of the Global Governance Programme at the European University Institute, Florence; an Affiliate Member of the Centre for Innovation Research at Lund University; a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations, New Delhi; and a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress (formerly Brookings India), New Delhi. A PhD in Economics from the University of Sussex, Anirudh has over 20 years of progressively responsible experience in academia, with research interests in services trade, government procurement, economic integration, non-tariff measures, and at the interface of trade and exchange rates, labour, and environment. Anirudh has over hundred publications including journal articles, a co-edited volume and book chapters. His academic work has been published in leading trade and development journals including World Development, Economics Letters, Review of International Economics, Review of World Economics, World Bank Research Observer, The World Economy, Journal of Development Studies, and Food Policy, amongst others. Anirudh has also produced commissioned work for various international organizations including the World Bank, WTO, OECD, ADB, DfID, APEC, ITC, IFC, UNCTAD, UNEP, UNIDO, European Commission and the Commonwealth Secretariat as well as economic and trade ministries of India, Switzerland and the UK.
