Jean-François Wen (Ph.D. in economics, Queen’s University, Kingston) is a senior economist at the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department, specializing in tax policy advisory and capacity building primarily in Francophone Africa and Central Asia. Before joining the IMF in 2017, he was an economics professor at the University of Calgary and Wilfrid Laurier University and worked as an economist at the Bank of Canada. He has published extensively on public finance and taxation.
