Simón Caicedo Graciano is a Research Fellow in the Department of Economics at Harvard University, where he works with Prof. Melissa Dell on deep learning methods and their applications in economic history, political economy, and trade. Previously, he was a consultant in the World Bank’s Development Economics Research Group (DECRG), where he coauthored research on trade policy and firm outcomes, including work on non-tariff measures and exporters’ resilience to external shocks and shifts in international competition, and on how technology adoption shapes firms’ ability to remain resilient during major disruptions. He holds a BSc in Economics from Universidad del Rosario and an MSc in Data Science and Machine Learning from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
