Akhila Kovvuri is a PhD candidate in Economics at Stanford University. Her research spans development, labor, and urban economics, with a focus on firms and labor market inclusion. Current projects examine how transit infrastructure affects firm location and composition in urban India, how industrial policy reforms drove firm agglomeration in rural India, career progression gaps using job portal data from Brazil, and a RCT evaluating a mentoring program for career development in India.
