Linda Helgesson Sekei

Dr. Linda Helgesson Sekei has a PhD in Human Geography from Umeå University in Sweden and is a senior consultant at NIRAS in Sweden. She has more than 20 years of experience in research and international development. Her PhD research was on life strategies of youth in small towns in Mozambique and Tanzania, followed by a post-doc with the think tank REPOA in Tanzania. She has worked and conducted research in diverse thematics, including education and skills development, economic empowerment and livelihoods, financial inclusion, gender, migration and sexual and reproductive health. She has been part of several research collaborations with the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), Christian Michelsen Institute (CMI), Femina HIP and the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF), in different constellations, focusing on youth empowerment and gender dynamics.
