Paula López-Peña is an Assistant Professor of Business Economics at the Smith School of Business, Queen's University. Her research lies at the intersection of development economics, health economics, and personnel and organizational economics, with a focus on how adverse life events—from daily hassles to traumatic events—affect health and economic outcomes. Current projects examine the causes and consequences of everyday aggression at work, intimate partner violence, state violence, and forced displacement, using field experiments and panel data to identify scalable interventions that prevent or mitigate these harms.
