Sergio Galletta

Sergio Galletta is a Senior Researcher at ETH Zurich and a former Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Bergamo. He received funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation for his post-doctoral work at the Institut d'Economia de Barcelona (UB), the Institut d'Anàlisi Econòmica (CISC) in Barcelona, and ETH Zurich. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from the Università della Svizzera italiana.

His main research interests are in the fields of political economy and public finance. He uses methods from applied microeconomics and machine learning to study a wide range of subjects, including the determinants and effects of political corruption, the role of media, political selection, and direct democracy in shaping society and fiscal policies.
