Andrés Álvarez is a Professor of Economics at Universidad de los Andes (Colombia). His research focuses on inequality, examining its determinants in labour markets and how economics has evolved in its attention to the topic, with particular interest in long-term determinants of inequality. He also works on the history of economic ideas.
