David Francis

David C. Francis is a Senior Economist with the World Bank’s Enterprise Analysis team, focusing on areas of data collection and analysis on firm performance, in particular on businesses operating in the informal sector. Francis’s work has appeared in several peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Development Economics, the Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, Political Science Research Methods, and others. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2010, he served as a researcher at Princeton University, where his work focused on patterns of preferential trade agreements, foreign direct investment, and the governance of the global economic system. Francis is a graduate of Columbia University and Davidson College.
