Elan Satriawan

Associate Professor, Department of Economics, Universitas Gadjah Mada

Elan Satriawan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Universitas Gadjah Mada. His research has been published in leading international journals, including the American Economic Review, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Journal of Development Economics, and Journal of Health Economics. Beyond academia, he served in senior leadership roles at National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K) under the Office of the Vice President of Indonesia, where he advised policymakers on poverty reduction, stunting, and social protection reforms. He has also been a Senior Research Fellow at Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), consultant to the World Bank and Asian Development Bank, and Associate Project Director of the Indonesia Family Life Survey. He earned his PhD from Michigan State University.
