Emilio Borghesan

Emilio Borghesan is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Michigan. He completed his PhD in economics at the University of Pennsylvania in May 2022 and subsequently spent one year as a postdoctoral research associate in the Industrial Relations Section at Princeton University. His interests lie in the econometric evaluation of educational policies and the intersection of education and the labor market. His work on college admissions policies has earned numerous awards including Best Paper at the CESifo Junior Workshop on the Economics of Education (2023), the Cass/Hayes Prize for Best Dissertation in Economics at the University of Pennsylvania (2023), and the William Polk Carey Prize for Outstanding Economics Dissertation at the University of Pennsylvania (2024). In his free time, Emilio enjoys cooking, reading novels, and playing board games.
