Itzel De Haro is an Assistant Professor at the Navarra Center for International Development (NCID) at the University of Navarra. She is an applied microeconomist whose research explores issues related to poverty, public policy, energy markets, and crime. Her current work focuses on analyzing the criminal behaviour of drug cartels in Mexico. Itzel holds a PhD in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a BA in Economics from the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE). Prior to her PhD, she worked as a consultant for the World Bank and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), contributing to projects in Latin America and Africa.
