José A. Jurado

José A. Jurado is a Senior Research Economist at the L. William Seidman Research Institute at Arizona State University. He is an applied microeconomist with interests in political economy, regional economic analysis, drug trafficking, and conflict. He holds a PhD in Economics from Brown University and a BA in Economics from Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas in Mexico City. Prior to joining ASU, he was a Dean’s Postdoctoral Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University and an Economist in the Research Division of Banco de México. His work has been published in the Journal of Development Economics, and he has worked on projects spanning the Latino economy, urban development, and migration.
