Marcos Ritel is an Assistant Professor of International Trade at Kühne Logistics University (KLU) in Hamburg. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the São Paulo School of Economics (FGV). His research focuses on international trade, trade policy, and climate policy. He uses quantitative economic models to study the evolution of global trade cooperation, the role of international trade in shaping climate outcomes, and the position of developing countries within the global trading system. His work has been published in the Journal of International Economics and The World Economy. Prior to academia, he worked at the World Trade Organization in Geneva.
