Mariana Pereira-Lopez is a Senior Economist in the Private Markets Group within the Development Economics Vice Presidency (DEC) at the World Bank Group. Her research focuses on firm-level dynamics and productivity, management practices, technology adoption, innovation, entrepreneurship, impact evaluations, competition, and energy efficiency. Her work has been published in leading journals, including the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), the Journal of Development Economics, Research Policy, the World Bank Economic Review, and the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, with a forthcoming article in the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics. She holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Economics from El Colegio de México and has more than sixteen years of experience across government, academia, and international organizations.
