Leila Gautham is a labour economist studying income inequality, gender, and childcare. Her research investigates time use and unpaid care provision, paid care employment (in sectors such as health and education), and how development and urbanization mediate gender inequality in labour markets.

Dr. Gautham is currently an Assistant Professor in Economics at the University of Leeds and received a PhD in Economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
