Matthias Weber (PhD University of Amsterdam) is an associate professor at the University of St. Gallen and director of the university’s Swiss Institute of Banking and Finance. Before joining the University of St. Gallen, he was working as principal economist at the research center of the Lithuanian central bank. His main research interest lies in the intersection of behavioral economics with financial decision making and public finance. He has published in leading peer-reviewed academic journals, including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of the European Economic Association, the Review of Financial Studies, and the Economic Journal.
