Dr Nirupama Kulkarni is Professor at CAFRAL. She works on academic and policy research in the areas of banking, household finance, real estate, and monetary policy. Her most recent work focuses on digitalization, banking in India, and its implications for credit allocation. Dr Kulkarni’s work has appeared in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Monetary Economics, and Management Science among others. She has an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from IIT Bombay, an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University, and a Ph.D. in business administration (finance and real estate) from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
