Alain Kabundi

Alain Kabundi is a Senior Economist in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Prior to joining the IMF, he worked as a Senior Economist in the Office of the Chief Economist for the Africa Region and in the Prospects Group at the World Bank. He also served as Lead Economist in the Research Department of the South African Reserve Bank, where his work focused on monetary policy, international macroeconomics, financial economics, commodity markets, and forecasting. Previously, he was a Professor of Economics at the University of Johannesburg. He has published on a wide range of topics. Alain Kabundi holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa.
