Pavel is an applied micro-economist. His research mainly focuses on the dynamics of firms in developing countries in relation to various issues regarding international trade, innovation, and economic development. In particular, he investigates how changes in different types of market conditions affect firm-level outcomes such as trade, labour choices, product scope, innovation, investments, etc. using detailed firm level data.
