Carlos Medina

Carlos Medina is Manager of the Branch Office in Medellín of Banco de la República de Colombia. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from New York University. Before becoming the manager of the Medellín Branch, he was Regional Chief Economist, and Researcher at the Banco de la República de Colombia. Previously he had been Director of Social Development at the Department of National Planning of Colombia, Deputy Director at the Administrative Department of National Statistics of Colombia, and professor and researcher at the Universidad de los Andes’ Department of Economics. His academic work includes research on labor markets, health, education, international migration, program evaluation, quality of life, and crime.
