Hailemariam Ayalew is a Research Fellow in the Development Strategy and Governance Unit. His research focuses on the microeconomics of development, particularly the impact evaluation of various policy interventions on smallholder farm households in developing countries. Before joining IFPRI, Hailemariam served as an Assistant Professor in Development Economics at Oxford University and held a postdoctoral research fellowship at Trinity College Dublin. He obtained his Ph.D. and MSc in Economics from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
