Kristian López Vargas is Associate Professor of Economics at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) and Director of the LEEPS Laboratory. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland. His research lies at the intersection of experimental economics, behavioral economics, and market design, with active agendas on the economic impact of artificial intelligence and on behavioral interventions that promote pro-environmental behavior. His work has appeared in leading economics journals. He serves on the Steering Committee of the Center for Analytical Finance (CAFIN) at UCSC and co-founded the Workshop of Experimental and Behavioral Economics of the Americas (WEBEAS).
