Martin Wittenberg

Martin Wittenberg is a Professor in the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town. He teaches econometrics at the post-graduate level. He also directs DataFirst, a unit specializing in the dissemination and preservation of data from African socioeconomic surveys. Before moving to UCT, he spent a decade teaching at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and a year as visiting Professor at Princeton. 

His main research is in the area of data quality of household surveys, and the analysis of inequality and labour markets in South Africa
