Colette Salemi is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. She holds a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota. A development and environmental microeconomist, Colette's applied research agenda includes a strong focus on forced displacement and refugee encampment. Topics of interest include: the general equilibrium effects of refugee camp establishment, encampment and refugee welfare, the formation of attitudes towards refugees, costs and benefits of encampment hosting modalities, and climate-induced displacement.
