Viola Asri
Senior Researcher, Chr. Michelsen Institute
Viola Asri is a development economist and Senior Researcher at the Chr. Michelsen Institute in Bergen, Norway, where she works with the Poverty and Global Health Research Group. Her research spans labour, public, and health economics, with a focus on women’s career choices, local governance, and public service delivery, using experimental and quasi-experimental methods in close collaboration with governments and NGOs. She contributes to the Development Learning Lab, a joint initiative with the Norwegian School of Economics and the University of Bergen, and is affiliated with the Inclusion Economics India Centre and the Excellence Cluster “The Politics of Inequality”. Her recent work includes leading large-scale projects on career guidance in India and social pension targeting in Bangladesh.
